Life-is-a-miracle

The following is fractured college biology trivia from many, many years ago. Since the memory is dim, the facts are shaky but the general idea is right.

  • There are three electrolytes (Ca, Mg, K?) that control our heart beat. One speeds it up, one slows it down and the other keeps the other two in check. If these tiny electrolytes were really out of balance our hearts would beat to death or stop. But our body maintains the proper proportions of them so that doesn't happen.

  • To digest food, it would take an 8' X 10' room filled with machines. Toddlers can do the same thing in their tiny little bodies.

  • Think of a gnat. It can fly, can walk, can eat, can reproduce, has knees, wings and a primitive nervous system. What is the smallest plane you have seen?
Life is a miracle!

Im-a-miracle

  • My mother was told that the chances she would ever get pregnant were 1 in 100,000.

  • When I was born I was so blue that my mom wasn't allowed to see me for 48 hours, she was sure I had died and they just weren't telling her.

  • I had my first Strep Throat when I was six months old, and approximately one Strep Throat every six months, thereafter, for the next thirty years.

  • When I was five I had a severe fever, probably from a Strep Throat, and all my hair fell out. I looked like a little billiard ball!

  • When I was nine yrs. old, my kidneys bled continuously for two months. They could neither find the source of it or stop it.

  • When I was fourteen, I had such a severe Strep Throat that I was given Penicillin and Streptomycin shots every day for five days. My fever was so high that I started to become delirious.

  • In 1993, I traded in my beloved two-seater, tiny, little sports car for a brand new, absolutely beautiful TANK of a car that I fell in love with through a set of circumstances I believe that God brought about. I cried all the way home from the car dealer realizing that buying this huge car was one of the biggest mistakes that I had ever made. Five months later, this car stopped a 60 MPH car and saved my life.

  • On January 17, 1994, I woke up to horrible shaking (I lived a few miles from the epicenter of the 1994 Northridge quake). The shaking was similar to the 1971 Sylmar quake and I thought, "Okay I've been through this before, it's going to be all right." But at the point the Sylmar quake stopped, this one was just warming up and then went into high gear! I thought this is either the "eight pointer" or we are at the epicenter, or both. At it's worst point I begged God to be with me and protect me. When it was over, I couldn't believe that the house was still standing and I had survived.

  • I am a miracle many times over. I am not a mistake. God put me here for a reason.
But Enough About Me... How About You?

I believe that everyone has their own miracle stories.
But maybe someone in your life has told you that you were a mistake or you were unwanted or you were not worth anything, THEY WERE WRONG!

God wants you, loves you and has a purpose for you. You are precious to him. You are NO accident. YOU have been put here for a reason!

How the Beautiful Princess and Her Prince Charming Met, Fell in Love and Lived Happily Ever After

I was home watching daytime "talk" TV. There were a couple of shows about women who thought they were ugly. All the women were above average in looks but because they had been told that they were ugly, they believed it. Two women stood out.

One was a little red-haired, freckle-faced girl. She was adorable. She was so cute that she was model material. But the kids at school constantly told her she was ugly. She was gorgeous! By the end of the show she was starting to realize that she really was cute.

But my favorite story was that of an African-American woman. She had been told all of her life that she was ugly. You should have seen her, she was absolutely beautiful and she had a nice and very sweet personality. But because of all the things that had happened to her, she couldn't see her beauty, even though she looked like a supermodel.
The wonderful ending to this story is that one day she called her son-in-law at work and ended up talking to his coworker. The coworker wanted to meet her. When she opened the door this man's mouth dropped. She thought to herself, "he must be very disappointed with my looks."
And then he said, "I had no idea that you'd be so beautiful!"
A few months later they were married. She was so happy she was absolutely radiant and he was so obviously in love with her.

All it takes is someone to recognize your beauty.
God recognizes your beauty and loves you.
You are a miracle, you have been put here for a reason and He loves you.
